She published eight books of her music, without any support from the Church or the nobility, making her the composer with the most published music of her time.

In 1644 she published her first book of madrigals, in the preface to which she states, "Being a woman, I am anxious to publish this work. I wish it were safe under a golden oak and not endangered by the swords of slander that have already been drawn against it."
