Composer and pianist. Respect for her compositions allowed her to survive the French Reign of Terror (1793-1794), as a series of improvisations based on La Marseillaise, performed for the Committee of Public Safety, earned her her freedom after being imprisoned during the Revolution due to her aristocratic origins.

Hélène took a position at the new Paris Conservatoire in 1795, becoming the first female professor there. She subsequently published two volumes of music.
Below is her Piano Sonata No. 9 in F# minor, Op. 5, No. 3. I include the link to download the score.
Her notable works include three piano sonatas, as well as a Complete Piano Teaching Course. The following are some of the studies from that course (No. 111 from the first video is also included in this compilation). The link to download the score includes the rest.
