Composer, pianist, and organist. She wrote nearly 40 works, including pieces for violin, piano, and voice. Her father wanted her to pursue a career in medicine, but from an early age she showed an interest in music. She studied piano in Stockholm and later in London. She wanted to dedicate herself to composition but abandoned it due to society's negative attitude toward women composers (I hear you, sister). I'm sharing her Nocturne, Op. 10, and the link to download the score.
She married and devoted herself to her children, and when they were at an age where they were less dependent on her, she returned to composing. It was the 1880s, and there was already more openness toward the idea of a woman as a composer.
I share her Romance and Humoresque, pieces for piano and violin.
Her music was very well received in Sweden. She wrote string quartets, works for piano and violin, solo piano, organ, choral music, and some songs. Finally, I share Chansonnette, the second work in her Opus 1, two piano works. Here's the score:
