Composer, pianist, and singer. The Martinez family lived in rooms in a large building on Michaelerplatz in Vienna. As was common in those days without elevators, the floors of the buildings corresponded to the social class of their inhabitants. On the lowest floor were the rooms of the Dowager Princess of the wealthy Esterházy family. The Martinez family was on the third floor. On another intermediate floor lived Nicola Porpora, a well-known Italian singing teacher and composer. Above, in a cold, leaky attic room, lived a young composer struggling to make his way as an independent musician: Joseph Haydn. The lives of all these people were connected, in large part, through Marianne Von Martinez.
Here is her Piano Sonata in E major with its respective link to download the score.
Metastasio, a family friend, arranged for Marianne to take lessons with Haydn. Later, she began taking singing lessons with her other neighbor, Porpora, who also knew Haydn and hired him as his assistant.
Now comes her Piano Sonata in A major, also with a link to download the score.
Martinez's name and music were known throughout Europe. Although she was an active and highly successful performer and composer, she never sought an appointed position, as it would have been unacceptable for a woman of her social class to seek employment. Martinez wrote two oratorios, four masses, six motets, cantatas, three piano sonatas, one harpsichord concerto, and one symphony.
Here then is her Harpsichord Concerto in E major, this time without score.
And finally the link to IMSLP where you can find much more music
